🎮 Welcome to My Game Development Journey!

Hi there, and welcome to my blog!

I'm Ela Salih, a second-year Game Design student at Escape Studios. I created this space to document my journey into the world of game development, 3D art, animation, and visual effects.

Over the past two years, I’ve had the opportunity to work on some really exciting projects, looking back at my first year, I also developed strong skills in:

  • Movement and narrative design (writing story synopses and building character art bibles)

  • 3D VFX, including modelling props like an acoustic guitar

  • 2D VFX, where I composed a short CGI clip

  • 2D animation, where I created a short duel between two samurai characters

  • Team-based animatic production inspired by 1960s reality shows

  • Game art, designing unique items like a potion bottle shaped like a blade

And during my second year I worked on:
  • A side-scrolling mobile game (Year 2)

  • A Borderlands-inspired 3D diorama

  • A specialism project where I modelled a detailed revolver

  • An ongoing team racing game project (currently in development)

Through this blog, I'll be sharing detailed breakdowns of these projects, insights into my creative process, lessons I've learned, and the challenges I've overcome along the way.

My ultimate goal is to not only track my progress but also connect with others who are passionate about game development, digital art, storytelling, and interactive design.
Whether you’re a fellow student, an industry professional, or just someone who loves games, I hope you'll find something interesting here!

Thanks so much for stopping by — I can’t wait to share more with you soon.

🚀 Stay tuned for my first project showcase!

– Ela
